The purpose of the Student council is to fairly and adequately present the view of the student body to senior management in school, including the Headmaster and Deputy Headmasters. The aim is to promote change for the good of the pupils of Camp Hill and to represent their interests which can often be ignored. The Student Council gives the student body a voice and it is essential for that voice to be heard.

The Student Council holds meetings weekly and welcomes anyone who wishes to have their voice heard. The meetings are run by the two presidents of the Student Council, currently Adeen Irfan and George Lanham. Unlike many other student councils, we don’t follow a strict form representative system but instead we welcome the voice of anyone who wishes to become a member, not limiting the voices we hear.

Our plan for the next year consists of a focus on the student body, assisting the mental health committee and helping the formation of new clubs and societies in school but also a focus on the wider world with the hopeful implementation of paper recycling and half-termly charity events.

The Student Council elections are held every Spring Term and as the new Presidents, George Lanham and I, Adeen Irfan, plan to take the council to heights it has never seen before. The Student Council aims to be more efficient and will prioritise taking action and calls on the student body to do that. We call on you to make suggestions and put forward proposals which we can take to the headmaster and implement. If you have any ideas for the Student Council, anyone is welcome to attend a meeting on Thursday lunchtimes in MR2 or alternatively, you can email studentcouncil@camphillboys.bham.sch.uk.
