Physics
The department has two full time specialist Physics teachers and two part-time specialists. There are three dedicated physics laboratories and two others shared between the three sciences. Practical work is a very important part of teaching physics at Camp Hill and all boys are encouraged to learn as they work through a problem by thinking scientifically. Physics, like the other two sciences, is taught as a stand-alone subject throughout all key stages.

While experimental work is still at the heart of the scheme of work pupils learn the basics of physics topics such as light and electricity.
Year 9: 3 hours per fortnight
From September 2017 pupils will follow the GCSE scheme of work.
Key Stage 4
In Years 10 and 11, all boys follow the new GCSE AQA course (8463) with an examination at the end of Year 11.

The A level course follows the AQA 7408 specification. Most pupils take the Astronomy option. All examinations are taken at the end of the two year course.
